WHEN TO CHANGE?

I’m working with a client that is highly successful in their field in large part due to some excellent decisions that were made a couple of decades ago. The current CEO is keen to change the direction of the group but is meeting tremendous resistance from the senior team. The main arguments being; “we are successful so why change?, why fix something that is not broken?”

Change is the great constant in life. So, who is right here? Do we change when things are going well rather than wait for the decline to begin; or do we anticipate the decline and begin the change?
