WHAT IS THE COST OF YOUR WORK?

At a session we ran recently, one of the participants was a former police officer.
He shared with me after the session that his role with the police became so stressful that he turned to alcohol to manage the impacts of the job he was doing and came close to taking his own life.
Fortunately he was able to get help and work through his issues.
This led him to complete a course in counselling and he now works in the wellbeing space assisting other police officers with mental health. This conversation reinforced how our work can impact us and the importance of having outlets and mechanisms to assist us in managing stress.
Taking the time to assess yourself and how you are tracking in terms of your work and mental health is something to be done on a regular basis.
How are you feeling today?
