As the new year has arrived it has been interesting to resume some more “normal” activities which were derailed by the global COVID pandemic last year.
Australia has been very fortunate in limiting the spread of COVID so we have been able to resume a level of normality in working practices.
I started the working year off with a 3-hour face to face intensive workshop. It was amazing to be in a room full of people again and it really highlighted for me the stark difference and outcomes of working online versus face to face.
My sense of it is that when working face to face, there are so many more cues including body language, facial expression, discussion points and interactions that just don’t occur in the same way in an online environment.
It made me realise the inherent value that meeting face to face brings to having transformational conversations.
Hopefully in 2021 the opportunity to do more of this will be possible!
