Many times when I am feeling down I reach out to others and when I do, I find 2 things happen;

  1. Those that I speak to are usually able to support me/ listen to me and provide perspective on my situation.
  2. I am also able to support them as it gives them an opportunity to speak about what is on their mind.

When you reach out when you are taking action rather than shutting down. It also requires you to be vulnerable which leads to clearer and courageous conversations.
