MANAGING UNCERTAINTY

With so much uncertainty in the current situation and the future being rather difficult to predict, many are experiencing high levels of anxiety and fatigue. In Australia, the number of calls to help lines has increased by around 30%, with some helplines receiving more than 3000 calls a day.
A key question then is, what can we do to manage our ongoing situation during this pandemic?
Here are some suggestions:

  1. Physical – Stay active, move, get fresh air and exercise whenever possible.
  2. Mental- Look after your mental health, share your feelings with people you trust and try to use the mindfulness approach to help you navigate difficult moments.
  3. Intellectual – Do online courses in areas of interest, read and engage yourself in topics that is of interest or that bring happiness and fulfillment.
  4. Spiritual – Delve into some of the bigger existential questions and perhaps use prayer, ritual, chanting or meditation to make sense of the world.
