The recent debacle with the new Essendon Football Club CEO resigning a day after his appointment due to a conflict in values is troubling. It raises questions about the governance and due diligence that the board should have done.
It also highlights the importance of selecting leaders who embody the values of the organisation, especially an organisation linked to the AFL which has a significant influence in Australia.
